Basketball Recap: Trace Farrelly Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Enterprise

After losing to Enterprise the last time they met, Foothill decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Foothill Cougars walked away with a 52-45 victory over the Enterprise Hornets on Tuesday. The 52-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Foothill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trace Farrelly, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Matt Poulsen was another key player, going 7 of 13 on his way to 18 points and six boards.

Despite the defeat, Enterprise saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Timothy Scheel dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Scheel also set a new season-high mark in blocks with four. Another player making a difference was Ja'Kye Rawls, who posted 17 points.

Foothill pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Enterprise, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Foothill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-43 loss against Pleasant Valley on the 23rd. Enterprise has also already played their next matchup, a 67-64 defeat against Chico on the 23rd.
