Basketball Recap: Amory Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Amory challenged Ripley on Tuesday. The Amory Panthers lost 51-31 to the Ripley Tigers. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 45-40.

This is the second loss in a row for Amory and nudges their season record down to 9-13. As for Ripley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amory will venture away from home to take on Mooreville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ripley has already played their next matchup (against Alcorn Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
