Basketball Recap: ASHTON SAVOIE's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Washington-Marion over Biloxi

Washington-Marion saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 49-36 to the Biloxi Indians. The game marked the Charging Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Washington-Marion's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was ASHTON SAVOIE, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was MONTE FARMER, who had 13 points.

Reggie MaGee had a dynamite game for Biloxi, going 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandro Montalvo, who put up 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Washington-Marion suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 4-4. As for Biloxi, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington-Marion and Sulphur will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sulphur will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Washington-Marion surely won't give up without a fight. As for Biloxi, they will welcome Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
