The Webber Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Wayne City Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Webber is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Webber came up short against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield and fell 10-7.

Walker Sherwin was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Graham, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wayne City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Brownstown/St. Elmo 2-1 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since April 22, 2024.

Wayne City pushed their record up to 3-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Webber, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Webber couldn't quite get it done against Wayne City when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
