Baseball Recap: Terry's Win Ends 14-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After losing to Meridian the last time they met, Terry decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Terry Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Meridian Wildcats 9-8. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Brady Busby made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Busby wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Davis, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Another was Noah Nichols, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Terry's win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5. As for Meridian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Terry will take on Pearl at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Meridian, they will square off against Leake County at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
