Basketball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

Northwest was the 53-51 winner over South Whidbey when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the Northwest House and the South Whidbey Falcons didn't end well, with the Northwest House falling 56-40.

Among those leading the charge was Grady Davis, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sage Northup, who posted nine points and five boards.

Northwest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for South Whidbey, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6.

Northwest is taking a road trip to challenge Bear Creek at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bear Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.8 points per game this season. As for South Whidbey, they will host Granite Falls at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Granite Falls' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
