Basketball Recap: Woonsocket Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Woonsocket and Hope squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Woonsocket had to settle for second. They took a 51-36 bruising from the Hope Blue Wave. The Villa Novans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Wave apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Woonsocket lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Delilah Arce, who posted six points.

Woonsocket's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Hope, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Woonsocket does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hope, they will head out on the road to take on Pilgrim at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Pilgrim's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home while Hope has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
