Basketball Recap: Choctawhatchee Comes Up Short

Choctawhatchee lost against Christian Brothers back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Choctawhatchee Indians were dealt an 80-45 defeat at the hands of the Christian Brothers Purple Wave. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 255th in Florida, while the Purple Wave are ranked 41st in Tennessee).

Choctawhatchee has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Christian Brothers, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Choctawhatchee will venture away from home to take on Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Brothers, they will head out to face off against Lausanne Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
