Baseball Game Preview: Noble Knights vs. Sanford Spartans

The Noble Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Sanford Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Noble's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Sanford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Sanford will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Noble extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Knights came out on top against Portland by a score of 4-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Noble got a great performance from Aiden Torno as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Wesley Turnbull was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Alec Hale, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sanford's offense. They fell 3-0 to South Portland on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Spartans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Brady Adams was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

Sanford's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Noble, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Noble might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Sanford when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
