Soccer Game Preview: Juneau-Douglas vs. Lathrop

For the second straight game, Juneau-Douglas will face off against Lathrop. The Crimson Bears will square off against the Malemutes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Juneau-Douglas' last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Juneau-Douglas is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Lathrop, who was ranked eighth at the time (Juneau-Douglas was ranked 13th). The Crimson Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Malemutes 2-1. Alyssa Travis had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Juneau-Douglas got from the refs.

Peyton Wheeler was the driving force of Juneau-Douglas' attack as she scored both of Juneau-Douglas' goals, bringing her season total up to 12 goals.

The win got Juneau-Douglas back to even at 5-5-1. As for Lathrop, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
