Basketball Recap: Madilynn Ellis Key Part of a Team Effort in Panthers Win

Sale Creek won the last time they faced Collegedale Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Sale Creek Panthers strolled past the Collegedale Academy Collegedale Eagle with points to spare, taking the game 53-35.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sale Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madilynn Ellis, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Ellis has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Garner, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Sale Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Collegedale Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sale Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sequatchie County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collegedale Academy, they will face off against Boyd-Buchanan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
