Volleyball Recap: Second Baptist University-Model Wins Going Away Against Baytown Christian

Second Baptist University-Model won the last time they faced Baytown Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagle blew past the Bulldogs 3-0. While the Eagle didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Second Baptist University-Model was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-11.

Ava Yaw paced Second Baptist University-Model's offense, picking up 16 kills. Yaw got some help from Micah Yaw and her 17 assists. Micah was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Second Baptist University-Model pushed their record up to 9-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Baytown Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Second Baptist University-Model will welcome Family Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Baytown Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Eagle's game: after the Eagle face off against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they'll take on Baytown Christian again at 2:00 p.m. on September 13.
