Basketball Recap: Unalaska Skates Past Tok with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Unalaska). They claimed a resounding 72-32 victory over the Tok Wolverines. With the Raiders ahead 41-21 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Tok still got an impressive performance from Chairo Espinosa, who posted 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Espinosa continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lucas Hipp, who earned five points and 13 rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Unalaska and bumps their season record up to 3-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-14 Nikiski and 4-9 Tok. As for Tok, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Unalaska didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-34 loss against Ninilchik on the 15th. As for Tok, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-51 defeat against Nikiski on the 15th.
