Basketball Recap: Reed-Custer Comes Up Short

Reed-Custer managed to slip by Coal City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Comets came up short against the Coalers on Saturday, falling 68-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Comets have suffered since December 7, 2024.

Reed-Custer's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Coal City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.

Reed-Custer will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Serena at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Coal City, they will head out to square off against Dwight at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
