            Softball Recap: Moon Area Tigers vs. West Allegheny Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Moon Area was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell  6-2 to the West Allegheny Indians. The Tigers were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting  back in April of 2023.
 Katie DeMarco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
 On the hitting side, Moon Area saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Alina McMahon, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
Moon Area's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for West Allegheny, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Moon Area is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Chartiers Valley  at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, West Allegheny will  take on  rival Upper St. Clair  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Indians 2.6, the Panthers 4) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
