Basketball Game Preview: Piedmont Academy Cougars vs. First Presbyterian Day Vikings

The Piedmont Academy Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the First Presbyterian Day Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Piedmont Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.

Piedmont Academy will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating John Milledge Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Piedmont Academy came out on top against John Milledge Academy by a score of 74-63 on Friday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Trojans are ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, First Presbyterian Day suffered their closest loss since December 16, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Tattnall Square Academy by a score of 50-48.

Piedmont Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for First Presbyterian Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
