Softball Game Preview: East Catholic Eagles vs. Manchester Red Hawks

East Catholic hasn't had much luck against Manchester recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Red Hawks at 3:45 p.m. East Catholic has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Catholic lost 17-4 to Conard on Monday. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Ciara Flaherty led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Delaney Poach was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, on Monday Manchester's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 victory over South Windsor. Surprisingly, this marked the Red Hawks' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

East Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Manchester, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
