Port of Los Angeles waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Fremont Pathfinders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in April.

Jimena Vargas was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Briana Aleman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Abigail Bazan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Port of Los Angeles' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Fremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Port of Los Angeles nor Fremont have any future games scheduled.
