Softball Recap: Liberty Patriots vs. Centennial Golden Hawks
Liberty extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 15-7. They fell 5-1 to the Centennial Golden Hawks. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Golden Hawks when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Liberty saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Gomez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
As for Centennial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games.
On Centennial's side, Brynlee George spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits. George has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jaycee Estalio was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Lundyn Harrison was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
While Liberty had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
