Basketball Recap: Lexington Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Lexington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past the White Knoll Timberwolves with a 39-35 win on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Timberwolves back in January, they had to take a 54-52 defeat.

Lexington was led to victory by Sydni Anderson and Izzy Saville. Anderson dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Saville posted eight points and seven boards. Saville has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played.

Despite the loss, White Knoll had strong showings from Shaelyn Hayes, who put up 13 points, and Valentina Paniagua, who had eight points.

Lexington pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for White Knoll, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9.

Coming up, Lexington will head out to face off against River Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lexington is facing River Bluff at the right time seeing as River Bluff is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for White Knoll, they will welcome Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
