Volleyball Recap: Agawam Wins High-Profile Contest Against Wayland

Agawam faced Wayland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Brownies walked away with a 3-1 win over the Warriors. The victory was nothing new for the Brownies as they're now sitting on five straight.

Agawam was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 25-13, 25-16.

Agawam was led to victory by Eric Nazarets and Joseph Culhane. Nazarets had nine digs and three aces, while Culhane had 16 digs and 15 kills. Culhane has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 13 times he's played.

Agawam pushed their record up to 24-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Wayland, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

As of now, neither Agawam nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
