Basketball Recap: Furtah Prep Comes Up Short

If Furtah Prep was riding high fresh off their 52-27 takedown of St. Mary's Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons lost 51-27 to the Horizon Christian Academy Warriors on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Warriors are ranked 94th).

Furtah Prep now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Horizon Christian Academy, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Furtah Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on February 3. As for Horizon Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lanier Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
