Volleyball Recap: Central Arkansas Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kayla Myers and Spencer Matteson

Central Arkansas Christian was the 3-2 winner over Harding Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 24-26, 29-27, 22-26, 16-14.

Despite the defeat, Central Arkansas Christian had strong showings from Spencer Matteson, who had 15 digs and three aces, and Kayla Myers, who had 19 digs, 15 kills, and three aces. Myers is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season.

Central Arkansas Christian now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Harding Academy, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Central Arkansas Christian will take on Malvern in a tournament on Saturday. Harding Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
