Baseball Recap: Trotwood-Madison Takes a Loss

Trotwood-Madison extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-12 in the process. They came up short against the Wilmington Hurricane, falling 23-3. The Rams were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hurricane from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Trotwood-Madison saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Darnell Powers, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Wilmington, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Wilmington's side, Jake Stephens was a standout: he went 3-for-6 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Stephens a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Tolliver, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Trotwood-Madison will take on Ponitz Career Tech at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Golden Panthers are coming into the contest with three straight losses at home, meaning the Rams will have to defend against a squad out to give their home crowd a much needed win. As for Wilmington, they will square off against Archbishop Alter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
