Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Bears vs. Harmony Longhorns

Two dominant forwards in Alikai Creque and Sylus Cory are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cypress Creek Bears will take on the Harmony Longhorns on Wednesday. Cypress Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Harmony likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Cypress Creek was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-57 to Wekiva.

Meanwhile, Harmony didn't have too much trouble with Dr. Phillips on Thursday as they won 69-54. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Panthers are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harmony's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Cypress Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Cypress Creek came up short against Harmony in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 73-68. Can Cypress Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
