Baseball Game Preview: Spring Hill Bears vs. Dierks Outlaws

Spring Hill is 8-2 against Dierks since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bears will head out to face off against the Outlaws at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dierks will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Spring Hill extended their winning streak to six on Friday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over Foreman. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the game before.

Dierks came out on top against Cutter-Morning Star on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Outlaws were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. The Outlaws haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jacoby Faulkner was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Dierks is undefeated when Faulkner posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Treaton Alexander also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dierks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Spring Hill's record now sits at 14-1-1. As for Dierks, their record is now 7-9.

Spring Hill got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Dierks by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
