Volleyball Recap: Portage Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Portage can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Chesterton Trojans on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss on October 2nd.

Brooke Hodges paced Portage's offense, picking up four kills. Hodges got some help from Ella Klakoski and her five assists. Ryleigh Watson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Portage has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-20 record this season. As for Chesterton, the victory was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 30-3.

Portage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chesterton, after both having extra time off, they and Crown Point will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
