Soccer Game Preview: Madison vs. Sharpstown

Madison is 1-9 against Sharpstown since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Madison Marlins will face off against the Sharpstown Apollos at 7:45 p.m. Madison's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Saturday, Madison didn't have quite enough to beat Spring Woods and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Sharpstown entered their tilt with Austin on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 2-0 shutout.

Sharpstown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matchups. As for Madison, they now have a losing record at 2-3-1.

Madison came up short against Sharpstown when the teams last played back in January, falling 4-2. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
