Tarpon Springs won the last time they faced Boca Ciega and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tarpon Springs Spongers came out on top against the Boca Ciega Pirates by a score of 8-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spongers.

George Matzke looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carson Tibbetts, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Rochkind, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Tarpon Springs hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boca Ciega struck out ten times.

Tarpon Springs' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Boca Ciega, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
