Softball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

If Covenant Christian was riding high fresh off their 19-4 takedown of Second Baptist University-Model last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the First Baptist Christian Warriors on Tuesday. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Hayleigh Brandt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Summer Cobb also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Covenant Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for First Baptist Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Covenant Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for First Baptist Christian, they will welcome Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
