Basketball Recap: Mather Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mather can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 91-21 loss at the hands of the Loyola Academy Ramblers. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Ramblers are ranked third).

Mather's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Temi Yesufu, who posted seven points and four blocks, and Lauren Adolfo, who put up eight points. What's more, Adolfo also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Mather's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Loyola Academy, the victory (which was their 24th in a row) raised their record to 30-2.

As of now, neither Mather nor Loyola Academy have any future games scheduled.
