Archbishop Hannan waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Chalmette Owls get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Nate Tardo, who gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks to keep Chalmette off the board. Tardo also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Archbishop Hannan is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 11-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Hannan's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reed Long, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Archbishop Hannan pushed their record up to 15-12 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.29 runs across that stretch. As for Chalmette, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Coming up, Archbishop Hannan will head out to challenge Loranger at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Hannan is facing Loranger at the right time seeing as Loranger is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Chalmette, they will face off against Northshore at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Chalmette 3.8, Northshore 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
