Basketball Recap: Christ School Greenies vs. Asheville School (Independent) Blues

In what's become a running theme this season, the Christ School Greenies gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 84-45 victory over Asheville School (Independent). The win was familiar territory for Christ School who now have five in a row.

Zymicah Wilkins was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lleyton Thomas-Johnson, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and six assists.

Asheville School (Independent)'s loss came despite strong showings from Miki Gacic and Brady Donlon. Gacic scored 20 points, while Donlon scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Donlon has scored all season.

Christ School's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-5. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.2 points. As for Asheville School (Independent), their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ School will stay at home for another game and welcome the Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Asheville School (Independent), they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Carmel Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 597 points over their last eight contests.
