Softball Game Preview: Madison Southern Eagles vs. Jackson County Generals

The Madison Southern Eagles will challenge the Jackson County Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Madison Southern barely beat Rockcastle County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Madison Southern was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Rockcastle County on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the game before.

Lexie Keener was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in runs (two). Taylor Reeves was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Keener wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Madison Southern lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockcastle County didn't launched any home runs.

Meanwhile, Jackson County waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles an 11-0 shutout.

Madison Southern's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Jackson County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
