Preview: New Berlin Eisenhower Lions vs. Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings
New Berlin Eisenhower is 1-9 against Wisconsin Lutheran since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The New Berlin Eisenhower Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings at 7:00 p.m. New Berlin Eisenhower knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matches -- so hopefully Wisconsin Lutheran likes a good challenge.
New Berlin Eisenhower pushed their score all the way to 67 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-67 to Lake Country Lutheran.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin Lutheran put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Pius XI Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 88-73. Given Wisconsin Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Pius XI Catholic is ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Berlin Eisenhower has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Wisconsin Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road.
New Berlin Eisenhower took a serious blow against Wisconsin Lutheran when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 81-30. Can New Berlin Eisenhower avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
