Preview: Rockport-Fulton Pirates vs. Carroll Tigers
The Rockport-Fulton Pirates will be home for the holidays to greet the Carroll Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
After a string of five wins, Rockport-Fulton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 61-48 to Alexander. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rockport-Fulton has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Carroll pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 85-64 loss at the hands of Gregory-Portland. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (59), Carroll still had to take the loss.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Boston Hills, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braedon Gomez, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Rockport-Fulton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Rockport-Fulton beat Carroll 62-49 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Does Rockport-Fulton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carroll turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
