Football Recap: Creekside Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Creekside and Marist squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Creekside had to settle for second. They fell to the Marist War Eagles 27-21. The Seminoles' defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Cayden Benson and Dylan Vickerson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Benson threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, while Vickerson picked up 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Vickerson has posted since back in September.

Creekside's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Marist, they pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Creekside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marist, they will be home for the holidays to greet North Oconee at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th. North Oconee will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Marist surely won't give up without a fight.
