Basketball Game Preview: Friendly Patriots vs. Oxon Hill Clippers

Friendly hasn't had much luck against Oxon Hill recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Friendly Patriots will host the Oxon Hill Clippers at 6:00 p.m.

Friendly is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Gwynn Park on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Friendly was dealt a 76-35 loss at the hands of Gwynn Park. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Andrea Hardy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Germany, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Oxon Hill entered their tilt with Central on Thursday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Falcons 78-7. The Clippers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 29 points or more this season.

Oxon Hill pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.2 points over those games. As for Friendly, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Friendly was dealt a bruising 65-12 loss at the hands of Oxon Hill in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Friendly, Madison Williams (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
