Preview: Murray County Indians vs. Gordon Central Warriors
Murray County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Gordon Central Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Wednesday, Murray County came up short against Model and fell 53-43. Murray County has not had much luck with Model recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Gordon Central pushed their score all the way to 61 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 83-61 loss at the hands of Rockmart. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Gordon Central has suffered against Rockmart since January 18, 2019.
Murray County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Gordon Central, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Murray County beat Gordon Central 69-59 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Murray County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
