Softball Recap: Sullivan County Comes Up Short

If Sullivan County was feeling good fresh off their 24-3 takedown of Millville last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Griffins came up short against the Wellsboro Hornets on Thursday, falling 14-4.

Miley Dickinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Kayla Fowler was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Sullivan County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Wellsboro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sullivan County will venture away from home to take on Sugar Valley Rural at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wellsboro, they will head out to challenge Hughesville at 11:00 a.m. on the 12th.
