Hickman lost to Southern Boone back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Kewpies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Eagles. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Kewpies as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-21, 24-26, 26-24, 24-26, 15-10.

Hickman's offense was headlined by Natalie Brinkley and Sadie Warzinik, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Jaiden Moore and her 24 assists. Finally, Warzinik was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Hickman's victory bumped their record up to 4-7-1. As for Southern Boone, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5-1.

Hickman has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Winnetonka on the 20th. As for Southern Boone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Sullivan on the 20th.
