Softball Game Preview: Antigo Red Robins vs. Shawano Community Hawks

The Antigo Red Robins will venture away from home to square off against the Shawano Community Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Antigo will be strutting in after a victory while Shawano Community will be coming in after a loss.

Antigo was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Wausau West 4-3.

Gracie Glatz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Antigo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breleigh Akright, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Akright has posted since back in May of 2025. Ava Cornelious was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Shawano Community fell victim to Fox Valley Lutheran and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fox. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shawano Community's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Antigo, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
