Baseball Recap: Sedgwick County Takes a Loss

Sedgwick County extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 4-4 in the process. They came up short against the Yuma Outlaws, falling 13-1. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Outlaws from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Sedgwick County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Korven Magana, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Yuma, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Yuma's side, Reyli Trejo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Trejo was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alex Pensado was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Brodie Kallweit also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Yuma beat Sedgwick County by a score of 11-5 later that day.
