Basketball Game Preview: Ridgedale Rockets vs. Fairfield Christian Academy Knights

The Ridgedale Rockets are taking a road trip to challenge the Fairfield Christian Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgedale has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight defeats, while Fairfield Christian Academy will come in with five straight victories.

Ridgedale is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Fredericktown on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ridgedale was beaten by Fredericktown 56-29. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 725th, while the Freddies are ranked 168th).

Meanwhile, Fairfield Christian Academy hadn't done well against Bishop Rosecrans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Fairfield Christian Academy enjoyed a cozy 63-45 win over Bishop Rosecrans.

Fairfield Christian Academy pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Ridgedale, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Ridgedale took a serious blow against Fairfield Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2017, falling 88-34. Can Ridgedale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
