Tift County was the 20-14 winner over Camden County when they last played one another back in October of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Tift County Blue Devils fell 38-28 to the Camden County Wildcats on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Wildcats are ranked 25th).

Despite the loss, Tift County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Damieon Dixon rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 230 yards while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Those 120 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Dixon. Another player making a difference was Kamari Holloman, who gained 134 total yards.

Even though they lost, Tift County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Leading Camden County to victory were Parks Riendeau and Jordan Hardy. Riendeau threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns, while Hardy rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown. A healthy portion of Riendeau's aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Elyiss Williams, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Tift County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Camden County, their record now sits at 7-3.

Tift County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. After each having a week off, Camden County and North Cobb will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on November 15th. North Cobb will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Camden County surely won't give up without a fight.
