Baseball Recap: Parklane Academy Triumphs

Oak Forest Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Parklane Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Yellowjackets. Surprisingly, this marked the Pioneers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Aidan Nickles looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Parklane Academy is undefeated when Nickles allows one or fewer earned runs, but 9-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Parklane Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Chandler, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave Chandler a new career-high. Collin Smith was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

The victory got Parklane Academy back to even at 12-12. As for Oak Forest Academy, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-5.

Parklane Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair will be back at it again later today.
