Volleyball Recap: Carmel Extends Winning Streak to Three

Carmel waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Floyd Central Highlanders 3-0.

While Carmel won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-9, 25-18.

Thomas Kuehl paced Carmel's offense, picking up ten kills. Kuehl got some help from Shepard Spidel and his 27 assists. Kuehl was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Carmel's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Floyd Central, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Carmel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Hamilton Southeastern on the 1st. As for Floyd Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Columbus East on the 1st.
