Softball Recap: Clarenceville Comes Up Short

Clarenceville had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-15 to make it eight. They lost 17-0 to the Lutheran Northwest Crusaders. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Lutheran Northwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Considering they have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Lutheran Northwest's part, Ashley Abele and Alyssa Parets did most of the damage at the plate: Abele got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Parets got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Parets has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Stoetzer, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Clarenceville will take on Southfield Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lutheran Northwest, they will square off against Clintondale at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
