Football Recap: Escondido Charter Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Escondido Charter's offense. They took a blow against the Santa Fe Christian Eagles on Friday, falling 35-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 833rd, while the Eagles are ranked 197th).

Joshua Husmann went supernova For Santa Fe Christian., rushing for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Husmann got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jairus Bolden, who picked up 42 receiving yards and two TDs.

Escondido Charter now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Santa Fe Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Escondido Charter will square off against La Jolla Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Fe Christian, they will face off against Army-Navy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
