Basketball Recap: Belvidere Skates Past North Boone with Ease

Belvidere won the last time they faced North Boone and things went their way on Monday too. The Belvidere Bucs blew past the North Boone Vikings 77-49. The Bucs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Belvidere had a senior duo take command as Emma Pierson went 16 of 29 on her way to 37 points and six steals and Arianna Labeau dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Pierson has scored at least a third of Belvidere's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Pierson, who posted five points and four steals.

Belvidere was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Belvidere's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for North Boone, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-8.

Belvidere won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Guilford will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Belvidere surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Boone, they will take on Genoa-Kingston at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
